When Steve Bellis, 44, of Wrexham sought investing from BBC 2's intimidating Dragons' Den, he pulled off a never before done accomplishment, walking out not only with the money he sought, but more than he originally asked for, a clear nod to the power of the poker industry these days. By securing a £65,000 investment for his The Nuts Poker League from tough panel of multi-millionaire investors, Bellis got the best of a bidding war sparked between the investors themselves, all interested in getting a piece of the business. Starting in Wrexham, Cheshire and Deeside, the Nuts Poker League can now be found in Shropshire, Watford, Manchester, Cardiff, and London. With the investment, which equates to a 40 percent stake in his poker league, Bellis hopes to take his business across the nation.
