After a boating accident that resulted in five fatalities put an early end to the High Roller Poker Run over Labor Day Weekend on Lake Texoma, the Highport Resort and Marina General Manager does not foresee having another poker run next year. For the last fifteen years a boating poker run was held at Highport, but manager Tim Hayes said he does not see one happening in 2007, saying it would be too soon. Despite rumors of a Flash Gordon Memorial Poker Run, named after one of the boats involved in the accident, Hayes said that it is not likely. A poker run involves vehicles traveling a set distance, making scheduled stops to pick up playing cards to form a winning poker hand.
