Southeast Asia will soon be watching one of the most important shows in poker history, the one most often hailed as poker players first introduction to the game, the World Poker Tour. The first season will soon be aired on Macau Cable in Macau, and the second season will get shown on MediaCorp, Singapore's largest TV broadcaster. Macau has a long history of gaming, a very important coup for the WPT because of its position as a huge gambling area, and its role as a special administrative region of the People's Republic of China. With a few recent licenses issued to a few international companies aiming to build casinos in the area, Macau will only become a bigger draw, something the WPT will look to capitalize on.
