A recent poll on CNBC might surprise many who are following the fate of online poker in the United States: the results show that over 90% of Americans would prefer online poker become legal and regulated in the United States, as opposed to what looks like might happen, which is the complete banning and prohibition of the game. Spurred on perhaps by studies that have shown that the federal government could benefit by over $3 billion in annual revenue, plus $1 billion for the states, the debate is heating up as the US Senate reconvenes for its fall session, when it will vote on the current bill to ban online poker, HR 4411.
