It may seem like poker rooms these days are unstoppable juggernauts, plunging ahead through barely chartered internet waters, breaking the ice and steaming for their destination with no real obstacles, but a recent incident involving an online poker room shows that they are still vulnerable. Not only do they have to be concerned with legal movement in various countries, such as the UIGEA in the United States, but sometimes a sally from an unexpected corner can send them reeling. Recently a big name online poker room was involved in a dispute over the domain name they are known by and had to shut things down when the courts ruled against them. They managed to get their room up under a temporary name, but it remains to be seen if they will fully recover from this turn of events.
