With the fate of online poker still hanging in the balance, waiting on the U.S. Senate to meet and vote on an Internet gambling bill, many institutions are taking the initiative by heading in the direction they assume the law will go - to ban online poker. Among the institutions walking down this path are universities and colleges, such as DeSales University, where a recent consideration of whether or not to block all university computers from access to online gambling sites turned into a debate about personal freedom. The president of the University wanted to err on the side of personal freedom, and, so far, access to online gambling sites remains open for DeSales University students.
