When the UIGEA took the wind out of the sails of a number of online poker rooms, Party Poker was among them, and recent reports show just how big a hit the poker room took. The site's parent company, Party Gaming, reported a loss approaching fifty million dollars for the first half of 2007. The profit for the same period of last year for what was once the world's largest poker site was $320.5 million, while this year it is $277.4 million. Despite that, CEO of Party Gaming Mitch Garber was positive when speaking about the company's future.
