Mississauga raids have resulted in 80 people being detained in connection with the running of illegal poker games, but only seven have been charged. The OPP Illegal Gambling Unit and the Peel Regional Police hit four businesses with search warrants, the end of an investigation that got under way last year in December. Reports had come in that people were attending Texas Holdem poker tournaments and being charged entry fees, putting them in the illegal area of the law. Players initially detained were released without being charged, police focusing their efforts on the organizers of the illegal gambling houses.
