The very first All Ireland Inter County Team event recently took place at the City West Hotel in Dublin. The venue was for the very first Irish Poker Cup. Participating were 32 teams, which makes it one for each county in both Northern Ireland and the Republic, with each team made up of 10 players with total of 320 players participating in the freezeout style tournament. In a unique approach each team was handed 500 points and points were deducted as players got knocked out: the earlier team member hit the rail, the more points were deducted. In the end it was team Leitrim that took home the prize of €67,750. The second place was a tie between Tyrone and Laois getting €23,750 each.
