Sheriff's Office Sponsors Poker Run

Motorcycle riding, poker playing, and supporting a good cause are going to be the theme on September 9 for the Houston County Sheriff's Office in their Fourth Annual Poker Run, to benefit the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Homes. The event will also be held in memory of Deputy Ronnie Harlow II, a dispatcher for the Houston County 911 Center and son of Sergeant Ronnie Harlow, an investigator with the Sheriff's office. Sgt. Harlow is one of the organizers of the annual event, and he talked about how his son loved to participate in the poker run before he perished in a motorcycle accident in Peach County on April 5. Registration is $15 per hand and $25 per couple, and top prizes will be awarded, including $300 for first place, $200 for second place, and $100 for third place.
