While the United States Congress continues to debate the merits of legalizing or outlawing online poker, the proliferation of online poker rooms has not slowed down. A few months ago the estimated number of online poker rooms was around 400; and recent studies show that now there are around 600 operating poker rooms. An independent poker web site pokersitescout.com, which offers information about the online world of poker, conducted a survey. Research included relevant poker rooms while excluded those that could be considered non serious - such as poker tutorial sites and poker rooms that involve strictly play money.
The final decisions of the US government concering online poker remain to be seen.
