Microsoft may be wishing they hadn't agreed to put out a Texas Holdem game for their Xbox live marketplace, but soon the game will be available for download. Initially billed as a free offering because of the sponsorship by online poker site River Belle Casino, the Texas Holdem game lost its sponsorship and the delays in release and a lack of information were coming from Microsoft. The final word on the matter is that the game will be released on the Marketplace on Wednesday, August 23, and it will be free - for 48 hours. This is a compromise between the initial promise of a free game and the fact that the sponsorship has folded. Log on to Xbox live Marketplace starting at 1 a.m. Pacific Time on August 23 to download it for free. If you miss this opportunity, you can still download it for 800 Microsoft points, or around $10.
