33 Arrested in Poker Raid

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported that Tuesday night a building was raided by Shelbyville authorities, who found four poker tables in operation, running what appeared to be an illegal poker tournament with a $1k buy in. The raid came on the tail end of a four month investigation and resulted in the arrest of 33 people and seizure of nearly fifty thousand dollars. The $48k seized was generated at least in part by each player putting up their buy in, a portion of which was going to the house in every hand, what casinos call a "rake."
