Local Poker Heroes Win Cash but No Bracelet

By launchpoker, Aug 13, 2006

In their first ever attempt at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker, Port Orange residents David Kanesky and David Eller discovered they have a lot in common. They share first names, they share hometowns, and they also share nearly identical cash prizes from their attempts at making the final table. With a field of 8772 players, Kanesky finished 387th and Eller finished 447th, impressive results considering the size of the field. Kanesky was paid $30,500 for his efforts and Eller $26,000. While many poker players, both professional and amateur alike, had their hearts set on winning a title and a bracelet at this poker event, landing in the paid ranks of finishers wasn't so bad either.
