While the legal status of online poker in United States of America is still up for interpretation, some online poker outfits are taking what they see is the next logical step in blocking access to their web sites by players with United States addresses. While a bill that passed the US House of Representatives still waits for the Senate approval before its next step towards becoming law, operators such as Bet Fair have closed their online poker rooms to players with US mailing addresses. As a result, two Bet Fair poker sites, BetFair.com and PokerChamps.com have been taken out of the reach of US players for qualification for the inaugural event in the Asian Poker Tour.
