They are called the "second chance" of events at the World Series of Poker, the handful of low buy-in Texas Holdem events that take place during the final days of the Main Event. The first, Event 40, had 1100 players all paid $1,000 to play. The second, Event 41, had 1007 players showed up and paid $1,500 to play. But the third event, Event 42, had only 365 players willing to put up $1,500, and there are only three "second chance" events left. Today Event 44, another $1,500 event will kick off around midday, and there are no estimates yet as to how many, or how few, players will be putting up their money to play. In the end of six very long weeks of the World Series of Poker, it seems that most people are foruced on the Main Event.
