In what will certainly be called a ground breaking event, the World Poker Tour has recently signed an agreement with the China Leisure Sports Administrative Center, putting the WPT in reach of the Chinese public. The details are sketchy as far as the actual tourneys go, but the WPT says that the partnership will "promote the sport of poker" by instituting the very first national poker competition in China. This move may have been predicted by those following other recent WPT/China partnerships, such as the WPT getting the right to broadcast on Macau Cable.
