Poker Attacker Sentenced to Five Years

prison

Four months ago a Georgia man stabbed another man after an argument during a poker game and was sentenced recently to a five year prison term. Vicente Perez, who is 56 years old, showed contrition just before the sentence was pronounced, saying it was an accident. Indeed he pled guilty to reckless manslaughter, the appropriate crime considering the victim, Arthur Prince, died from the stab wound. The victim, who was 61 years old, had attacked Perez with a metal walking cane, prompting him to defend himself with a pocket knife.
