Completing a study of the topic, University of Ontario Professor June Cotte has come down on the side of legalizing online poker. The study has shown the professor that a regulation of online poker in the United States would improve the conditions of gambling in that country. Fellow professor Kathryn Latour of University of Nevada was in on the study, which interviewed 20 live gamblers and 10 online gamblers. As Cotte pointed out, there is a "huge amount" of people already playing online poker, so many that regulating seems to be the smartest move to both control the industry and to protect those playing in it.
