In Washington State playing online poker is considered a felony, a change in the law that occurred in 2006 and placed online poker players in the same criminal class as other Class C Felons such as child abusers. Renton, WA attorney Lee Rousso has taken action to change the law and requested a hearing to declare the law unconstitutional. Rousso, the Poker Players Alliance's representative for Washington, has recently received a hearing date. He is expected to file his next brief by August 24, giving him about a month before the hearing date of September 21.
