2006 WSOP: Last 12 Guaranteed $1 Million in WSOP Finale

For the past year speculation has run rampant over the number of players that would participate in this year's 37th annual World Series of Poker Main Event. Every year it seems a new record is set in attendance and in the prize pool, and last year's entire final table of nine players were guaranteed a least $1 million. This year it looks like the same will be true for the top 12 players, at least. So far some 8580 players have signed up paying the $10,000 required in making the top prize of $11.7 million, even more than the anticipated $10 million that everyone was so excited about. The top prize and all cash payouts may continue to grow as new players will be accepted throughout play today.
