2006 WSOP: It's Official - WSOP Main Event Attendance Breaks Record

The start of the Main Event at the World Series of Poker is still a few days off, but as of July 23 more than six thousand players have registered to play. This already breaks the record of last year, itself a record-setting event at 5,619 entries. Each of the more than 6,100 currently signed up to play starting Friday, July 28th, have paid their $10,000 buy in, or had it paid for them by a sponsoring company. Registration will continue 24 hours a day until July 28th. If seats are available after that, players can register until they run out or until the first level of play on Monday, July 31st.
