In the wake of the arrest of internet sportsbook company BetonSport leader David Carruthers, many investors and gambling industry leaders are feeling a little jumpy about their legal status in the United States of America. Carruthers, who was arrested along with ten other employees on racketeering charges, may serve as an example of those who run afoul of American gambling law. The aftermath of the arrest has left some online gambling company stock reeling and resulted in the cancellation of a gaming industry expo this week in Las Vegas.
