When Xbox Live first announced that they would be providing a free Texas Holdem game available for download from the Xbox Live Marketplace, Xbox and poker fans alike were ecstatic. The deal was, Riverbelle.com, an online casino, was to sponsor the game, although no mention of it was to be found on their website. First there were delays that went unexplained, and then word finally came that the game was set for a release date of August 23. Now not only that is in question, but apparently the game will no longer be free. Xbox Live Marketplace management would not comment on the final price, the reason for the change of heart, or the final release date, but they did say without a doubt that the game will not be free.
