Party Poker Dodges Potential Fallout

When the higher ups from BetonSports Plc faced arrests this week investors in the gambling and gaming market quickly started looking to dump their shares, and everyone from traders to CEOs to members of Congress expected the ramifications of the arrests to send shockwaves of destructive poker throughout the gaming community. In fact, while there certainly were some impacts from the events, in other ways it was business as usual.Congress, with HR 4411 through the House and waiting on the Senate, has not rushed to turn the anti online gaming bill into law. Party Poker, one of the biggest online poker rooms, reported second quarter KPI's of a positive gross revenue up nearly half, to $319.3 million.
