In what can only be described as good news for the online poker industry, the H.R. 4411 Online Gambling bill will not be receiving US Senate action anytime soon, according to Reuters. The bill, which purposes to ban Internet gambling, is facing opposition in the US Senate after passing the House of Representatives recently. Following the arrest of David Carruthers, who is the chief executive of Beton Sports, on charges of racketeering and conspiracy, supporters of the bill were hoping it would blow through the Senate quickly this month, but it looks like it will be some time yet before the Senate takes a look at H.R. 4411.The bill, which leaves out online betting on horse racing and online sales of lottery tickets, has seen a number of attempts at passing, and has passed one side of Congress or the other, but so far never both.
