2006 WSOP: Event 27 Starts Today at WSOP

A shorter than normal No-Limit Event will begin today around noon at the Rio All-Suite Hotel Casino for this year's World Series of Poker, a two day tournament that almost seems like an afterthought. As most events are three day except for some special ones, such as Seniors and Ladies Events, this normal seeming fifteen hundred dollar buy in event seems out of place to be only two days. This kind of event may actually be symptomatic of the surging popularity of the WSOP, with the organizers coming up with events to try to offer something for everyone. This day the event will run until a predetermined point, after which the remaining players will be sent home to rest, and return to finish up the event tomorrow.
