2006 WSOP: WSOP Main Event Two Weeks Away

The Main Event at the World Series of Poker is what most poker fans think about when they dream of WSOP Bracelets and big money prizes. While there are some forty plus events going on this year, it is the $10,000 No-Limit Holdem Championship that is the dream magnet, and this year it looks like it could draw as many as eight thousand participants. Each will pay $10,000, or have it paid for them though sponsorship, and the estimated first prize will be a whopping ten million dollars. The big event will take 14 days to complete, and kicks off in about two weeks from today. With so many thousands of players even the pros think of the event as a bit of a lottery, but as Doyle Brunson - the Godfather of Poker - once said, they are holding more tickets than the average player.
