2006 WSOP: Shorthanded WSOP Event Ends Today

By launchpoker, Jul 15, 2006

The second shorthanded No-Limit Texas Holdem event of this year's World Series of Poker wraps up today. The shorthanded games mean there are only six players at each table, which can require some massive shifts in poker strategy when playing a No-Limit game. Phil Gordon was an early favorite to take the whole game, but only managed to hold on to sixteenth place, earning just over $14,000 for his $2,500 investment. The final nine players will likely take their seats around 2pm today to see who is the best shorthanded player in Las Vegas this year. Just making the final table is a huge accomplishment for these players, who outlasted and outplayed a total field of 740 players.
