2006 WSOP: Fun Loving Home Game Player Wins Ladies WSOP

Mary Jones Meyer may not have the name recognition of Jennifer Tilly, but she is now a member of the same club as the winner of the Ladies Event at the World Series of Poker this year. Last year it was movie star Jennifer Tilly who took the event, along with a similar event at the World Poker Tour. Meyer has had some WPT success as well, being the last woman to get knocked out of a WPT event in Vegas last year, earning her the biggest prize of her career at around $2,700. It is safe to say she surpassed that amount Monday, when she took her first WSOP bracelet and $236,094. Previous winnings have included dish washing and car washing chores, as well as making a buddy push her dog around in a stroller.
