Critics of Representative Goodlattes's anti internet gambling bill, H.R. 4411, point out that not only is it a measure that would infringe upon the rights of Americans to spend their hard earned income on activities they chose, such as wagering on the outcome of a sporting event, or playing poker online for money, but that it conveniently leaves out two industries that are definitely gambling related - namely the lottery, and horse racing.
The casino industry in the US is concerned about this bill, which at first seems to work in their favor. Certainly if people could not gamble online they would come to land-based casinos? Maybe not, as land based horse tracks would be allowed to accept wagers online, a decided advantage.
