For the first time in many years the main event at the World Series of Poker slipped backwards in terms of attendance, but still pulled in big numbers in terms of players and prize money. The Big Prize for winning the 2007 WSOP main event will be $8.25 million, thanks to the 6,358 players who put up $10,000 each to play. The total to be paid out to all who cash this year in the main event is just shy of $60 million. Last year's numbers were not equaled, when Jamie Gold topped a field of 8,773 players for a $12 million top prize.
