Regular Players Free of Online Poker Felony Fear

As of July 7th, online poker playing in the state of Washington is now considered a Class C Felony, something that could conceivably result in jail time and a ten thousand dollar fine. According to Rick Day, the Director of the Washington State Gambling Commission, the regular player won't have much to fear from the change in the law. The law was put through in order to give state law enforcement the proper tools to go after online gambling operators. If the state should come across a name of a player, a letter would be sent to the player reminding them that online gambling is now a felony, and a second discovery of a name may result in charges being filed.
