The poker boom ruined poker is not an idea you would expect would gain many supporters, and you would be right. But some think that the poker boom ruined at least part of the experience of poker, at least the way it was before it became a world wide phenomenon. Poker author Anthony Holden says as much in his latest book, "Bigger Deal: A Year Inside the Poker Boom" where he takes a look at the World Series of Poker now compared to 1978 when he first attended. The book covers the boom and the culture shock in attending when only a few hundred players were on hand compared to thousands.
