2006 WSOP: WSOP Omaha Event Day One

By launchpoker, Jul 6, 2006

The second Omaha event of the 2006 World Series of Poker begins today at the Rio in Las Vegas at 2pm, deftly scheduled two hours behind the start of another event, Event 11. Event 12, the $5,000 Omaha Hi Low Split, is the second big ticket price event this year, following the $5,000 No Limit event earlier in the week. Last year a relatively small 212 players competed, but there were 395 rebuys, pumping up the prize pool. In the end it was young poker great Josh Arieh from Atlanta, GA who beat out Chris Ferguson in a heads-up match, taking home $381,600. This event is the second 2 day event of the season, following Event 1, and will end the same day as Event 10, promising an exciting Friday night.
