For Australian Joe Hachem, last year was the ultimate dream come true. A former chiropractor who had to stop working because of a degenerative nerve condition, Joe turned to poker to pay the bills but always in his home country. When his kids were old enough to do without dad for a few weeks, Joe flew to Vegas to compete in the World Series of Poker, and won. An unknown at American poker tables, some wondered if his performance was a fluke, but this year's WSOP showing for Hachem proves otherwise. Coming in second in an event that snared him hundreds of thousands of dollars proves that Hachem is the real deal in Las Vegas, and he is heavily favored by some to take win a couple more bracelets this year.
