The name of the game is Omaha, and to the general public light on poker experience, it is a mystery. Today, at the Rio All-Suite Hotel Casino, the first non Texas Hold 'em event will begin at noon with Event 8, the $2,000 buy in Omaha Hi/Low Split. The event, which will run for three days, will likely draw many pro poker players who only dabble in Texas Hold 'em and spend the rest of their time hunting games of Omaha, which is very under-represented when compared to Hold 'em. As the most popular form of poker these days is No Limit Texas Hold 'em, Event 8 could provide some interesting play for those unfamiliar with how Omaha works.
