The World Series of Poker for this year has had its share of exciting moments, including the finish of Event 48, the $2,000 buy in No Limit Holdem event. More than 2,300 players paid their buy in to create a prize pool of $4.2 million. First place finisher Alexandre Gomes got $770,448 of that prize pool, along with a gold WSOP bracelet and, being from Brazil, the recognition of being the first player from that country to ever win a WSOP event. Marco Johnson of Walnut Creek, California took second place and $491,273.
