By launchpoker, Jul 2, 2007

Yet another record has been broken at the 38th annual World Series of Poker this week when the last of the $1,500 No Limit Holdem events drew more than three thousand entrants. This marks it as the largest preliminary event ever at the WSOP, with a total record of 3,151. The previous record was set this year at the very first $1,500 No Limit Holdem event when 2,998 players competed. This event, which is now the third largest in poker history, will pay out $722,914 to the winner and a total of 324 players will make money.
