The average online poker player has a lot of choices when it comes to tournaments to play in, and even poker rooms to chose from, but the big time payouts are typically reserved for live events, and are usually found in big name events such as the World Series of Poker or the World Poker Tour. Over time, however, more and more online poker sites are offering prize pools that are at least rival to some of the big time events played live, such as the $1 Million Guaranteed event from Poker Stars.
The most recent run of this event had a prize pool of $1.3 million and just over 1,300 players, and the final two battled for a first prize of over $260,000. The increase of poker payouts online is good news for poker players around the globe.
