The first open event of this year's World Series of Poker has been sold out which, together with alternates, will more than likely surpass last year's entry field, which was 2,305. The second event is a three day tournament playing the world's favorite form of poker, No Limit Texas Hold 'em. This event has a buy in of $1,500 and has, according to the WSOP tournament director Gary Thompson, sold out at 2,288. When the event is set up to play there should be 208 tables, with 11 players per table. Alternates were taken, and alternate seats will be distributed during levels one and two, each of which last one hour.
This event, which began at noon on Tuesday the 27th, will resume at 2pm today and continue at 2pm Thursday.
