Pub poker may have to wait a little longer to become legal now that the discussion on a pending bill has been shelved. The House Bill 484, which would legalize pub poker in the State of Louisiana, was postponed by a vote of 22 to 14 in the Senate. One sentiment against the bill was that it would create mini casinos all over the state. The bill would allow around 20,000 bars and pubs to host tournaments as long as there wasn't an entry fee or a rake. The bill was sponsored by Republican Warren Triche.
