2006 WSOP: Pro Players Expected to Rule WSOP

By launchpoker, Jun 26, 2006

With a field expected to hit around 8,000 this year for the Main Event at the 2006 World Series of Poker, it would be nearly impossible to predict who would win the whole shooting match. Odds are weighted in favor of the amateurs just by sheer force of numbers, but pros have a few advantages yet to play. With the ever increasing field the WSOP is becoming more and more like a lottery but, as Doyle Brunson once said, the pro players are holding more tickets than the rest of the gang.

The general feeling is that the majority of the WSOP bracelets this year will be going to the pros, and with the first event underway, it won't be long before this theory is put into practice.
