Online Poker Site Operator Cleared of Charges

By launchpoker, Jun 25, 2006

The operator of poker website pokertopia.com once employed an Ohio State University student to pass out flyers, some thing that landed both of them in hot water. When Bernie Fernandez Jr hired OSH quarterback Troy Smith, the university cautioned Smith about associated with Fernandez, concerned that the poker site operator would seek inside sporting information and then use it to make wagers. In reality, the job Smith did for Fernandez had nothing to do with the poker site, which incidentally does not take wagers, but an employment website that Fernandez also operates.

Fernandez home was raided by police who took computers, credit cards, cell phone and business records, leaving the web site designer unable to operate his businesses for eight months. He was recently cleared of all charges.
