Young Gun Wins Shootout at WSOP

The winner of one of the more interesting events at the 2008 World Series of Poker, Event 17, $1,500 NL Shootout, is Jason Young. Exactly 1,000 players showed up to start the event, which required each player who wished to advance to win the table they started at. Round two players were all competing for a spot at the final table. Young earned $300,000 for his victory, followed by Mike Schwartz with $200,000, John Strzemp III with $130,000, Rory Monahan with $82,000, and Matthew Giannetti with $40,000 rounding out the top five.
