Anyone in Fort Worth, TX who was hoping to take on poker legend TJ Cloutier recently was in for a big disappointment this past Sunday, as The Southwest Poker Invitational was shut down for legal reasons. The event, which would have paid money to charity, was shut down when word was gotten to the lawmakers that there would be a $400 buy in. It seems that Texas law prohibits a poker event where the participants risk money for the chance to win a prize, if it is going to be held at a location that holds an on-premises liquor license, which Bass Hall has.The event, publicized as a charity event, would have sent some proceeds to benefit the Peace Officers Memorial Foundation.
