Hot on the heels of the Internet Gambling and Regulation Enforcement Act recently introduced in the House of Representatives by Barney Frank comes a related bill, the Safe and Secure Internet Gambling Initiative. The idea, if implemented, would reportedly bring between $6 billion and $25 billion in taxes alone. The online poker rooms would be responsible for collecting and remitting the tax from poker deposits.
