When the UIGEA came down the pike it rattled most online poker sites, and soon after the US Department of Justice began making inquiries to many of the major businesses. Many of the sites are publicly traded and as such depend on public sentiment for their stock value, and one such site wants their shareholders to be reassured. Party Gaming has approached the DOJ to answer their questions in an effort to bolster stockholder confidence. Critics are concerned that Party Gaming will offer up private player information, however. Shares in Party Gaming are currently down.
