Spain Takes World Heads-Up Poker Championship

The final of the World Heads-Up Poker Championship goes to Isaac Mayolas de Vega from Spain. British poker star Paul "Action Jack" Jackson was in the competition in the final heads-up match, which lasted almost 3 hours. The Spanish were there in force at the Casino de Barcelona to support Isaac although Jackson had his supporters in the arena as well.

In the first hour very small pots were played and Jackson took a small lead. In the end Jackson moved all-in with a bottom pair versus a top pair and Isaac's hand held up. For the second time in three years the World Heads-Up Poker Championship was won by a Spaniard, possibly capitalizing on hometown advantage.
