Online Poker Now a Felony in Washington State

Washington State legislators have made a change that poker players have feared would occur, making online poker playing in the state a felony offence. The bill, S.S.B. No. 6613, has been the source of a great deal of anxiety, especially when taken into account that the bill developed into law under the radar.While many poker players in Washington are afraid of police busting down the door to take them away, Washington lawmakers have said that the new bill simply clarifies existing law regarding making wages. Prior to this bill being passed it was clear that making a bet with a bookie over the phone was illegal, but not so much playing poker online. Now people have clear direction on what is legal and what isn't regarding online poker.
